What's included in a house clearance price?
A house clearance price from RLE Waste Clearance includes two people doing all the carrying and loading, the loading time for your load size, transport and disposal. Loads are priced on 13 sizes of a 15 cubic yard truck, with up to 60 minutes of loading for a full truck, and the price is confirmed before work starts.
A few things cost extra on top of the load: fridges and fridge freezers at £60 plus VAT, chest freezers at £90 plus VAT, TVs and monitors at £10 plus VAT, and mattresses at £10 plus VAT each. Loading past the included time is £30 plus VAT per 30 minutes. Send photos of each room and the postcode on WhatsApp to 07534 244774, and you're under no obligation to go ahead.

What does a house clearance cost by size of home?
A house clearance costs from about £130 plus VAT for a spare bedroom to £360 plus VAT or more for a three-bed house, going by the load table. These are guides, not quotes: two homes the same size can hold very different amounts, so your photos decide the real price.
| Home | Rough load size | Price |
|---|---|---|
| A spare bedroom | About a quarter truck | £130 plus VAT |
| The furniture from a one-bed flat | About half a truck | £180 plus VAT |
| A two-bed flat | About three quarters of a truck | £260 plus VAT |
| A three-bed house | A full truck or more | £360 plus VAT |
A packed loft or garage can push a three-bed house into a second load, and fridges, TVs and mattresses are charged on top. If the house looks like more than one truckload, we'll say so when we price it from your photos. What decides the cost of a house clearance goes through the rest, including extra labour at £30 plus VAT per 30 minutes when loading runs past the time built into the load.
What happens on the day of a house clearance?
On the day of a house clearance, two people arrive with the truck, carry everything out, load it and take it away on the same visit, so nothing is left sitting on the drive or the pavement. They clear what was in your photos, loft and garage included, and leave whatever you've marked to keep.
Anything the family is keeping is easiest left in one room with the door shut, or labelled. Payment is on completion by card, cash, bank transfer or company cheque (not personal cheques), and you get a waste transfer note and a receipt.
Want a price for yours? Send a photo on WhatsApp and we'll tell you the load size and the price.
Can a house be cleared after a bereavement or years of collecting?
A house can be cleared after a death in the same way as before a move, with more care over keys and what the family keeps. Set aside anything you're keeping before the crew arrives, or tell us which rooms and cupboards to leave alone, and once access is arranged the house can be cleared without you there. Probate house clearance goes through it step by step for executors.
Where a home has filled up over many years, it's priced the same way, by the space it takes in the truck, from photos of each room. Nobody has to tidy up first, and hoarder clearance explains how a packed house is cleared room by room.
Do you clear houses in Bromley, Orpington and Sidcup?
RLE Waste Clearance clears houses across Bromley, Orpington, Sidcup and the rest of south-east London, and the busiest towns have their own house clearance pages covering the council collection, parking and housing. Central Bromley is more than half flats, so house clearance in Bromley deals with stairs and loading as much as rooms. Orpington is mostly 1920s and 1930s semis and detached houses, many with lofts and garages, which is where house clearance in Orpington starts.
Over the borough line in Bexley, house clearance in Sidcup covers the town and the roads around it. House clearance in Bexleyheath covers its semis and Old Bexley's detached houses, and house clearance in Beckenham the town-centre flats and Clock House conversions. Prices are the same in every town we cover, with no travel surcharge.
Should I get a skip for a house clearance instead?
A skip means you do all the carrying yourself, while a house clearance crew carries everything out and takes it away in one visit. RLE Waste Clearance doesn't hire skips. There's no skip permit or bay suspension to sort, no skip on the drive for days and no waiting for a collection, and you pay only for the space the waste takes up.
A hired van has the same catch as a skip, since you still do the lifting, and council tips set vehicle rules and booking slots before they'll take a load.

A three-bed house clearance usually starts at a full truck, £360 plus VAT for 15 cubic yards, with RLE Waste Clearance. A packed loft, a full garage or a shed can push it into a second load, and fridges, TVs and mattresses are charged on top. Send photos of every room, the loft and the garage on WhatsApp, and the price is confirmed before work starts.
A house clearance works in four steps: send photos of each room and the postcode on WhatsApp, get a price by load size, agree a date, then two people carry everything out and take it away in one visit. Payment is on completion by card, cash, bank transfer or company cheque, with a receipt. How it works has the full steps.
A house clearance takes almost everything in the home: furniture, white goods, clothes, kitchenware, loft and garage contents, and garden waste. The exceptions are chemicals and other hazardous waste, and asbestos that has already been removed can go if you tell us about it first. Paint is fine at £10 plus VAT per 5 litres, and so are Calor gas bottles at £10 plus VAT each.
A house clearance through the council isn't free for most households. Bromley Council's bulky waste collection starts at £43 for a handful of large items, collected from the front of the property only, and households on Universal Credit or Housing Benefit get one free collection a year, up to £43. With RLE Waste Clearance, a single item is the £60 plus VAT minimum, carried out from inside. Bulky waste collection in Bromley compares it with a load.
A house clearance with a full truck includes up to 60 minutes of loading by two people, and smaller loads include less, down to 5 minutes for a minimum load. Long carries, stairs or a packed loft can take longer, and loading past the included time is £30 plus VAT per 30 minutes. We'll tell you if we expect that when we price it.
The house clearance can go ahead without you, as long as access and instructions are clear. A key safe, a neighbour with a key or someone already at the property can let the crew in. Mark or photograph what stays, and the crew clears the rest. Bank transfer on completion is the simplest way to pay if you're not there.
A house clearance company should be on the government's register of waste carriers (external site), which anyone can search. RLE Waste Clearance is an upper tier registered waste carrier, broker and dealer, number CBDU175566. Bromley Council warns that residents can be fined up to £5,000 for not checking who takes their waste.
Everything RLE Waste Clearance takes away from a house clearance goes to a waste transfer station, where it's sorted. We don't buy or value anything in the house, so nothing is knocked off for furniture or items that might be worth something: the price is the load. Take out anything you want to keep or sell before the crew arrives, and you get a waste transfer note and a receipt when the job's done.
