House clearance cost
How much does a house clearance cost?
A house clearance in south-east London costs £60 to £360 plus VAT a load with RLE Waste Clearance, priced by the space your things take up in a 15 cubic yard truck, not by the number of rooms. The price covers the two-person crew, loading, transport and disposal. Send photos of each room on WhatsApp for a price.

What changes the price
How much there is
Volume sets the price. A full truck holds 15 cubic yards, and the 13 load sizes go up in steps from 1 cubic yard. See the full price list for every size.
Heavy waste
Rubble, soil, bricks and concrete are priced by weight. Loads up to 15 cubic yards or 1,200kg are £360 plus VAT. Most house clearances are furniture and bags, so this only matters if there's building waste in the garden or garage.
Items that cost extra
A fridge or fridge freezer is £60 plus VAT, a chest or American fridge freezer is £90 plus VAT, a TV or monitor is £10 plus VAT and a mattress is £10 plus VAT. The extra items list has the rest.
Stairs, lifts and long carries
Each load size includes loading time for our two-person crew. If loading runs over, extra labour is £30 plus VAT per 30 minutes. Tell us about access when you book and it goes into the price.
When it takes more than one truck
One truck holds 15 cubic yards, which is about a three-bed house. A fourth bedroom, a packed loft, a full garage or a shed of tools is usually what takes a job past it. The second load is priced by its own size, so a full truck and a quarter truck come to £490 plus VAT. Your photos show how many loads to expect, and we confirm the total for the whole job before we start.
One visit or several
Two half-truck loads cost more than one full truck, because each visit is priced on its own. If you can clear everything in one go, it costs less.
Where you are, and which day
Neither changes the price. The load sizes cost the same everywhere we cover and on every day of the week, with no travel charge, no tolls and no weekend premium.
Who takes it away
Disposal by a registered waste carrier is part of the price. RLE Waste Clearance is an upper tier waste carrier, CBDU175566, and you can check any carrier on the GOV.UK waste carrier register (external site) before you book. Every job comes with a receipt and a waste transfer note, and everything we collect goes to a waste transfer station, where it's sorted.

Questions
House clearance cost questions
Anything else? Ask us on WhatsApp or give us a call.
A three-bedroom house clearance is usually a full truck or more with RLE Waste Clearance, and one full truck of 15 cubic yards is £360 plus VAT. A loft, garage or shed that's full can take it past one truck, and a fridge, TVs or mattresses are charged on top. Photos of each room let us confirm the load size and the price before we start.
A house clearance after a death is paid for by whoever books it with RLE Waste Clearance, often the executor or a relative, once the job is done. Payment is by card, cash, bank transfer or company cheque. How the cost is then handled within the estate is for the executor or the estate's solicitor. A key safe or a neighbour holding the keys means nobody has to travel to let the crew in.
A free house clearance is not something RLE Waste Clearance offers, because every load has to be carried out, taken away and disposed of by a registered waste carrier. The price is set by the space in the truck, so the less there is, the less it costs. Anything the family is keeping comes off the load, and off the price, so set it aside before the crew arrives.
A house clearance with RLE Waste Clearance covers almost everything in a home: furniture, beds, white goods, bags, boxes, garden waste and the contents of lofts and garages. The exceptions are chemicals, clinical waste and other hazardous waste, which need a specialist contractor, and asbestos that has already been removed can go if you tell us about it first. Fridges, TVs, mattresses, tyres, paint and gas bottles are fine, at the charges on the extra items list.
A house clearance price can be given from photos, with no visit needed. Send photos of each room, the loft and the garage with your postcode on WhatsApp to 07534 244774, and RLE Waste Clearance will tell you the load size and the price. The price is confirmed before work starts, and you only pay for the rubbish actually taken.
An upstairs property doesn't cost more on its own, because each load size includes loading time for the two-person crew. If stairs, a lift or a long walk to the truck mean loading runs past that time, extra labour is £30 plus VAT per 30 minutes. Mention the access when you send the photos and it goes into the price you're given.
More than one truck of rubbish is normal for a bigger house, and your photos show how many loads to expect. RLE Waste Clearance prices each load by its size and confirms the total for the whole job before work starts. A loft, a garage or a shed is often what adds the extra load, so include photos of those too.
