What's included in the price of a garage clearance?
A garage clearance price from RLE Waste Clearance covers two people carrying everything out, the loading time for the load size, transport and disposal. A half-truck garage includes 30 minutes of loading, and a full truck up to 60 minutes. Nothing needs dragging onto the drive first.
A half-empty garage might be a quarter truck at £130 plus VAT, and a packed double garage can need a full truck of 15 cubic yards at £360 plus VAT. A few things cost extra on top of the load: paint is £10 plus VAT per 5 litres, car tyres are £4 plus VAT each, an old fridge or upright freezer is £60 plus VAT, and a chest freezer is £90 plus VAT. Engine oil, petrol, solvents and garden chemicals count as hazardous waste, and we can't take them. Everything charged separately is on the extra items list.
What happens to paint, oil and garage chemicals?
Tins of paint go on the truck at £10 plus VAT per 5 litres, but oil, petrol, solvents and garden chemicals stay behind. Garages collect things we aren't allowed to carry, so leave these to one side and the crew will clear around them.

Bromley residents can book the household hazardous waste collection that the City of London runs for the council, and the first collection can be free depending on the amount (Bromley (external site)). Elsewhere, check with your council for what they offer.
Can you clear a garage before a house sale?
A garage can be cleared on its own before a sale, or with the loft and the rest of the house in the same visit. An empty garage lets buyers see how big it really is. It all goes on one truck and is priced on the total space, so there's one load price for everything.
You don't need to be there. Leave the garage unlocked or the key in a key safe, send the photos, and we'll agree the price with you before we start. Payment is on completion by card, cash, bank transfer or company cheque, with a waste transfer note and a receipt.

What if I'm keeping some things in the garage?
Anything you're keeping can stay in the garage if it's marked or moved to one side, and the crew takes everything else. Two people carry it all out to the truck, so there's nothing for you to drag onto the drive.
Loading time is built into each load price, and a half-truck garage includes 30 minutes. If a garage takes longer than the time included, extra labour is £30 plus VAT per 30 minutes.
Where does the truck park for a garage clearance?
The truck parks on the drive, the lane or the road nearest the garage door, and most garages open straight onto one, which makes loading quick. Any parking fees, fines or congestion charges are ours to deal with and never added to your bill, and there's no travel surcharge. We clear garages from Chislehurst and Bromley to Lewisham and the areas around them, 7am to 7pm, seven days a week.

A garage clearance isn't free through the council. Bromley Council's bulky waste collection starts at £43 for a few large items, collected from the front of the property only, so everything has to be carried out of the garage first. Whoever takes your waste, check them on the government's register of waste carriers (external site); RLE Waste Clearance is registered as CBDU175566.

Old car tyres from the garage are £4 plus VAT each on top of the load price. Tell us how many when you send photos so they're in the price, and the crew loads them with everything else. They go on the same visit as the rest of the garage, so there's no separate trip.
A fridge, fridge freezer or upright freezer from the garage is £60 plus VAT on top of the load, and a chest freezer is £90 plus VAT. Empty out any food before the crew arrives. A fridge collected on its own is £60 plus VAT in total, and fridge disposal covers single collections like that.
RLE Waste Clearance includes loading time in every garage clearance price, from 5 minutes for the £60 plus VAT minimum load to 60 minutes for a £360 plus VAT full truck, with two people loading. A half-truck garage at £180 plus VAT includes 30 minutes. Extra labour beyond that is £30 plus VAT per 30 minutes, and we'll say if we expect it when we price your photos.
