Fly tipping clearance

Fly tipping clearance for landowners and managing agents

Fly tipping on private land is the landowner's responsibility to clear, and RLE Waste Clearance clears it across south-east London from £60 plus VAT. A two-person crew loads dumped bags, furniture and builders' rubble from yards, car parks and driveways, with transport and disposal included. Send a photo and the postcode on WhatsApp for a price.

How much does it cost to clear fly tipping?

Fly tipping clearance with RLE Waste Clearance is priced by how much of the truck the dumped waste fills, from £60 plus VAT for a few bags up to £360 plus VAT for a full load of 15 cubic yards. A pile that's mostly rubble or hardcore is priced at £360 plus VAT for up to 1,200kg.

Tyres, fridges and mattresses carry an extra item charge on top. This service is for private land, as rubbish on a public road or pavement is the council's to clear (Bromley (external site)). We can't take chemicals or other hazardous waste, so tell us if you spot drums or containers in the pile. Asbestos can go, but point it out in your photo. Send a photo and the postcode to 07534 244774 and the price is confirmed before we start.

What we take

Dumped waste we clear

  • Black bags and loose household rubbish
  • Sofas, mattresses and other dumped furniture
  • Builders' rubble, plasterboard and timber
  • Tyres, at £4 plus VAT each
  • Fridges and other dumped appliances
  • Garden waste tipped over a fence or into a hedge

If the pile includes chemicals, drums or containers of unknown liquid, we can't take those parts. Contact the council and check with them about how to get them removed. Asbestos can go, but point it out in your photo so we know before we come.

Who clears fly tipping on private land and public land?

Fly tipping on private land is cleared by the landowner, and fly tipping on a public road or pavement is cleared by the council. We clear it from fields, yards, car parks, private roads, driveways, front gardens and the grounds of blocks of flats, so it's usually the owner, the landlord or the managing agent who books us.

Rubbish on a public road or pavement should be reported rather than paid for. Bromley residents can report it at fix.bromley.gov.uk (external site) or through the council's fly-tipping page (external site). Elsewhere, report it to your local council.

Can landlords, businesses and managing agents book fly tipping clearance?

Landlords, businesses and managing agents can book fly tipping clearance, which is often the quickest way to deal with dumped waste by a bin store or behind a shop before it spreads or blocks access. A photo and the postcode is enough for a price, and you don't need to be on site if we can reach the waste. Payment is on completion by card, bank transfer or company cheque, with a waste transfer note and a receipt for your records.

Businesses and agents who need clearances regularly can apply for a commercial account, subject to credit checks, and commercial waste removal runs regular collections on whatever schedule you need. We clear fly tipping across Chislehurst, Bromley, Lewisham and the rest of south-east London, 7am to 7pm, seven days a week.

Want a price for yours? Send a photo on WhatsApp and we'll tell you the load size and the price.

What should I do before the crew arrives?

A few things make the fly tipping clearance go smoothly.

  • Take your own photos of the pile, in case you report it to the council later
  • Unlock any gates or barriers, or tell us how to get in
  • Count tyres, fridges and mattresses so the price includes them
  • Keep people away from anything that looks like asbestos or chemicals

How do I check who takes my own waste?

To check who takes your own waste, ask the collector for their waste carrier registration number and look it up on the gov.uk carrier check (external site) before you hand anything over. Some fly tipping starts with a cash-in-hand collector who dumps the load down the road, and householders can be fined up to £5,000 for not checking who takes their waste. Our guide explains what a waste transfer note is and when you need one.

We're an upper tier registered waste carrier, broker and dealer, registration number CBDU175566, which you can see on the Environment Agency register (external site). The price is confirmed before any work starts.

Questions

Fly tipping clearance questions

Anything else? Ask us on WhatsApp or give us a call.

Fly tipping is reported to the environmental health team at your local council, as gov.uk (external site) explains. Bromley residents can also report it at fix.bromley.gov.uk (external site). Take photos of the pile first, and if it's on your own land, you can book a clearance as well as reporting it, so the waste doesn't sit there while the council looks into it.

Fly tipping is the illegal dumping of household, commercial or industrial waste, according to gov.uk (external site). That can be several bin bags, one or two pieces of furniture, a small commercial load, garden waste or small amounts of hazardous waste. RLE Waste Clearance clears the non-hazardous parts from private land, priced by the space they take in the truck.

Fly tipping on a public pavement is the council's to clear, so report it to your local council rather than paying to have it moved. If the waste is in your front garden, on your driveway or inside the grounds of a block of flats, that's private land and we can clear it. Send a photo showing where the pile is so we can tell which applies.

Tyres and fridges from a fly tipping pile can go in the same load. Tyres are £4 plus VAT each and a domestic fridge is £60 plus VAT, on top of the load price. A commercial fridge dumped behind a shop is £90 plus VAT. Count what's there when you send the photo so the price includes it.

We can take asbestos from a fly-tipped pile if you point it out first, but chemicals need a specialist, because we can't take chemicals or other hazardous waste. Leave broken sheet material that might be asbestos alone and show it in your photo. If you see drums or unlabelled containers, contact the council for advice. We can still clear the rest of the pile around them.

You don't need to be there when RLE Waste Clearance clears fly tipping, as long as the crew can reach the waste, for example in an open car park or an unlocked yard. Agree the price first on WhatsApp at 07534 244774 or by phone, then pay by card, bank transfer or company cheque when the job is done. You get a waste transfer note and a receipt for your records.

Fly tipping can be cleared 7am to 7pm, seven days a week, and if you book before 12pm the job's done the same day, so the pile is gone before it attracts more. Send a photo and the postcode on WhatsApp (07534 244774) or call 020 8611 2586, and tell us how to get through any gates or barriers on the site.
